WWWPS Wont Start - IIS Not Responding

Hello,

In trying to resolve an issue in which the Sharepoint Timer Service
was spamming our application log with #50070 errors every few seconds
we created a custom AppPool in the Virtual Server Console. Once this
was saved - IIS went down and the WWWPS service will not start - it
says it cannot communicate with the RPC Server.

Exchange services are fine - even those that use RPC over HTTP within
the office.

However, we cannot connect to IIS, assuming since the WWWPS won't
start.

I went into the MetaBase.xml file and changed the pool manually back
to StsAdminAppPool and restarted IIS Admin and all services but the
WWWPS still won't start.

HELP!
