Access 2007 VBA project error message

I've been busy converting an existing 2003 database into 2007 by dint
of creating a new accdb database and importing the objects into it.
Everything went smoothly and all the objects imported without a
problem. I then ran a compile, discovered a problem with
wdOpenFormatAuto not being recognised so added a couple of libraries.
I also added two locations to the Trust Centre. Whether related or
not, when I now try to open the database I get this error:

"The database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it
cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is
first deleted. Deleting the VBA project removes all code from modules,
forms and reports"

If I click Cancel, the database opens but this message reappears if I
try to look at any of the code behind the forms or reports. Anyone
know what's going on here?

thats not the way to properly convert a 2003 to 2007 database. Open
the 2003 database and then save it as the 2007 format.

The 2003 database has been around for many, many years and is full of
rubbish which is why I only want selected bits. As I said, the whole
importation worked fine and I was able to work on, and use, the accdb
file so I don't think that is the cause of my problems

Well, I've repeated the exercise with no ill effects and, for the time
being, everything is holding up. But this is very flaky, isn't it? SP1
too
