Corrupt record in Access 2003

Corrupt record in Access 2003

I have a corrupt record that disappears after a compact, but reappears
several days later. This is on a widely distributed Access 2003
application that is used by about 100 users. The database itself is
only 70mb, but the problem this record causes is widespread. As soon
as the record appears again, reporting gets thrown off in a major way,
kicking out an "Invalid Argument" error when virtually any report is
attempted.

Any advice?

Is this the same record that gets corruption? Or the same table? Is this a memo
field?

Compact end repair may not get rid of a corrupt record. After compacting I would
suggest viewing the table, resize the columns so they are all visible on the screen
and scroll down the screen until Access pukes and dies. Or you can visit See the
Corrupt Records in a Microsoft Access MDB page at my website
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruption/corruptrecords.ht m for some code.

Now just how is this database widely distributed? Or you on a LAN, WAN? Is it split
into a FE/BE?
