Hosting Fees Getting Outrageous?

Has anybody noticed the hosting fees rising into the stratosphere lately?
I've been hosted by WebHost4Life for awhile which has been the low-cost
leader (using the term "leader" loosely of course).
They and other Windows host providers dropped fees drastically to match the
ridiculously low $4.95/month accounts once Microsoft licensing changed
policy to allow host providers to pay by the month for only what they needed
web site by web site so to speak --BUT-- now with virtual servers and IIS7
ASP.NET 3.5 and the need to use WPF/Silverlight fees for basic functionality
jumped from $9.95/month to $11.95/month for ASP.NET 2.0 w/SQL2005 which is
still affordable but get this: $59.95/month base rate for IIS7 ASP.NET 3.5!
Who is going to be able to afford these high fees for a startup? There's no
f*cking way I can sell a customer on the premise of Silverlight with hosting
STARTING at $59.95/month and this is from the historically lowest of the
lowest fee providers at that.

Go ask Scott. Nicely. Really.
weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/
He owns all the technologies and hosting relationships that you are
asking about.
