Hi

I have a FMS server runing on an old NT4 server, and I'm working on my new
version for FM9 but we change the server and keep the old one running for
older application... the new server2003 is on a new domain name... and all
station too.... I can't have acces anymore to the hosted files from the NT4
server, I also try using the IP adress of the server.... nothing and I try
the router patch TCP as mentione on the Filemaker website FAQ, but it's not
working, and I'm using a Local network, so it's normal it's not working.....

My FM9 version is not ready yet to be use but we still need to work in the
office !! And transfering the file from 6 to 9 and hosting using FMS9 is not
an option so many plugins and stuff not working in FM9.

Thank you

JF

I'd say in short :
- you have (or create one ) an 'Opening.fp5' file that opens all other FMP6
files.
- you have (or create one ) a 'CallSolution.fp5' small file that has just
one script line on its Opening script : Open( Opening.fp5).
- on each Workstation, you open once for all a copy of that
'CallSolution.fp5' and open the 'Opening.fp5' from the Host button (which
will find the FMS55 on the NT with its new IP address - that has to be a
fixed one)
- then you call you FMP6 solution by launching that 'CallSolution.fp5' file
with FMP6 on each workstation.
I may miss the 'domain' part but that's the general idea. It should work.
