accidentally deleted the whole /etc/mail directory

accidentally deleted the whole /etc/mail directory

am 27.01.2008 17:06:00 von scott

Now I've done

sudo apt-get --purge remove sendmail
sudo apt-get --reinstall install sendmail

but it won't re-write the config files into the mail directory....What
else can I do?

Thanks,

Scott Emick

Well, you could get a job at Charter:

But seriously...

If you're on a Debian derivative, apt-get --reinstall install sendmail-base
should set up a new /etc/mail for you.

David.

Thanks, actually the problem was somehow postfix got installed instead
and that's why the directories were different.

I have everything straight now it it works perfectly with Ubuntu
Server 7.10 LAMP setup and postfix. It was just a bit rough for me it
has been a little while with linux for me.
