how to install .NET 3.5 onto 2003 web server?
how to install .NET 3.5 onto 2003 web server?
am 30.01.2008 08:45:28 von Jurjen de Groot
hello,
I've developped an application using .NET 3.5.
I have asked my hosting provider to install the .NET 3.5 Framework
redistributable, and they say they did, but I keep running into problems
when starting a 3.5 web-application. The .NET version number at the bottom
of the error screen (2.0.50727.832; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.832) also
indicates that it's not using 3.5 assemblies (System.web.dll version for 3.5
is 2.0.50727.1433)
Should I be doing anything else in the setup of my website ? They have
already created a seperate application pool for just this web-application
but I keep getting all sorts of errors.
I have googled this but didn't find a solution for this problem.
I hope someone can help me out...
TIA,
Jurjen.

Maybe your support could check if it was correctly installed or
reinstall it again. Here's more information regarding installation on
Win2003
[2.1.4.] .NET Framework 3.5 installation might not configure IIS
correctly on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/a/e/9ae0f6cc-7032-4 08e-9ca7-989f9e4=
af4ec/dotNetReadMe.htm
Regarding System.web.dll's version. This is correct, ASP.NET uses CLR
2.0 and shows it as 2.0

With ASP.NET, having 3.5 installed is not the only hurdle. Make sure your
application is set to use 3.5, as well. This may be their issue or yours.
Many ISPs give you a configuration page to set the Framework version
yourself. If this is the case, you will have to set it on that page.

It would seem that :
2.0.50727.832 is version 2.0 of the .NET Framework
2.0.50727.1433 is version 2.0 of the .NET Framework SP1

It would seem that :
2.0.50727.832 is version 2.0 of the .NET Framework
2.0.50727.1433 is version 2.0 of the .NET Framework SP1
Now that SP1 of .NET 2.0 is installed on the web-server I get the same
message but now for the System.Core assembly (see below)
It's becoming a real pain to install my .NET 3.5 web-application, can anyone
help me out ?
TIA,
Jurjen.
