Access 2007 navigation

I noticed that I can set a custom navigation bar to my 2007 database.
But it only allows setting up groups - but not to add items to the
group.
What I want to do is get away from my old access tabs and call my
programs from the left navigation bar. Any ideas?
Also, will this run ok in the runtime.

Hi Paul,
When I first saw the access 2007 interface, I to assumed the navigation bar
was intended to allow navigation from within your program as well. In fact,
the nav bar is only for you, the developer, to help you easily find objects,
and filter your views.
The Nav bar DOES NOT show in runtime, so you'll have to re-think your idea.
I would just go with a main program ribbon, you can even put file, edit, and
tools type commands under the Office button itself.
Hope this helps,
