asp pages on renamed IIS server

asp pages on renamed IIS server

am 02.04.2008 10:30:13 von chris.coops

I renamed and moved a IIS web server onto a different domain yesterday
and this seems to have stopped asp pages from working.

the website hosted on the computer is working fine for normal html
files, but asp pages won't display at all. Is there anything else I
was supposed to change when I changed the computer name or domain for
IIS to work?

Thanks
Chris

Thanks very much,
I probably should have said I am running IIS on Windows Server 2000
and I think it is running IIS3.0. I can't see the web service
extensions, can you point me in the right direction for this?

Thanks again
Chris

Windows 2000 has IIS5 and does not have a Web Service Extensions node in the
MMC.

Have you checked the event logs for any errors? Could be a permissions issue
if IIS was using a login that has now had it's domain changed and so can
longer use that user account to run.

Hello,

Renaming and moving a webserver should not affect ASP pages. "Won't display"
does not give us much to go on, so i would like to request some more
information.

Is anything logged in the event log?
Is anything logged in the IIS log file?
If you disable "Show friendly http error messages" in your browser and try
to access the asp page, what error message does it give you?
