Rebuilding RAID

Rebuilding RAID

Hi,

It's been a while and I can't seem to find a manual or any steps that
describes the sequence I need to follow and it has been too long since I last
worked with RAID controllers.

Unfortunately we got a couple of Dell servers (PowerEdge 1850). One drive from
the backup system was used to rebuild a "live" system. Now the backup machine
needs to be rebuilt from the drive used on the live system. It uses PERC/CERC
BIOS utility U821 from 2004.

The steps were: the original drive 0 remained in the backup system and drive 1
was used to rebuild the "live" system.

Then they upgraded the live system and then used a new drive to replace the
backup drive. This leaves the original backup drive 0 out of date.

My question now is which steps do I take to rebuild the backup system from
drive 1 and thus make drive 0 a copy of drive 1.

I discovered that I could force drive 0 offline which then allows me to
rebuild it. Which should then be done from drive 1.
