[OT - completley] SNOW.

mad with joy. :)

Ferring, West Sussex. Still a lot here but it's going. Will be gone

Further up in that teensy weensy islet of yours, around Manchester and
northern Cheshire, it used to snow with gusto every winter (I have heard
it is not so much these days). But I can't recall much snow in April.
Wonderful experience for kids. It is not just the stunning visual
aspect. There is the crispness of the atmosphere, the cold on the skin.
And, most remarkable of all, the deadness of sounds, the muffling of
bells, horns and noise generally.

Well, you didn't say, "I'll post a link", so what was one to believe?
What you *did* say, pretty much. Which was that you were going to post
pictures, not that you were going to upload them to web space.

I believed straight away that Mike meant a link. Nothing else occurred
to me. But then I know that underneath this madman is a sensible man.

Nice pics. I like the one of the snow on the tree. Little small, though,
and 232k is a bit much for a 500 x 375 px image.

It is proabably pretty exciting for snow in April so far south in Ye
Olde Country for modern poms.
I remember from up north lush thick snow, we used to go on the hilly
golf links in Cheshire with home made sleds...

Not sure if you are joking, but I wanted to say this and assumed no one
would believe it. There is a kind of smell, it is an effect of the snow
on all the normal smells. (Analogy: the sounds are not the sounds of
snow - although there is a crunching and squeaking as one walks...).
Perhaps the snow itself smelled too. This I forget.

Funny how perceptions differ. I think of myself as a lamb who,
occasionally, is provoked beyond the point where any reasonable being
with celestial blood in its piping could be expected to just let the
blood flow at constant speed.
Travis, I don't think we should be trawling thru my history! There have
been one or two things that I was not completely and utterly right
about.
We must think of the future positively!
Now... I must rush, JK will be coming down into his kf to give me coffee
and Finnish croissants and I like to prepare for our meeting. Yesterday,
he made it known that he would like to discuss in secret my view that an
ordered list is nothing but a sneaky form of a two col table. The man
has even installed a blackboard no less so I can address him with
examples. He is so formal!

Heck, that was mild compared to what I've seen. I'd go searching for some
examples but I don't want to get hexed or voodooed into some kind of
marsupial frog/whatever. Besides, the sheer venomous malevolence imbued in
such text is enough to make an innocent regurgitate pea soup with his head
twisted around.
Btw, clever with the link (-no wrapping). How do you do that?

Here it wrapped and quote marks got stuck right in the middle of it
making it necessary to reconstruct it. My MT again, I suppose. It just
cannot appreciate clever and perfect.

Hmm, strange. 'Wonder how it does it in X-news...

They say it was made into a movie - which could have been good, but I doubt
if it was. Too shmultzy, although stuff like that is rather up my alley
(if well done.) I still idolize "Forbidden Planet", which had, for its
day, great sfx if not great acting (-though I liked Walter Pidgeon.)

58? Why you're still a young whipper-snapper! Blinky's older than that
(but of course he's got salt water to preserve his bod.) This guy Duende
