Server 8 and FMP 9

Server 8 and FMP 9

We got a copy of Server 8 (and a free downgrade to Server 5) when I
wanted to serve my FMP 5/6 files. Now it looks like time to upgrade the
FMP 5/6 files because of the 2GB limit.

I should have bought a 10 seat of FMP 8 when it was available, now only
FMP 9 seems for sale. Will it work properly with Server 8? ( Server
2003/XP client system)

Thanks

Peter

They just announced (I think it was this morning) a 10-pack of FM9 that
essentially includes a 'free' copy of Server 9.

Theoretically, you should be able to use Pro 9 with Server 8, but there
are certain issues (i.e. indexing) that may cause problems under certain
circumstances. If you are going to use this mixed environment, just be
sure you upgrade to the latest v-rev of both Server and Pro.

We are a non profit, I can get 10 seats for a little over a grand. What
are the indexing problems, can you detail them

Thank you,

Peter
