Frontpage 98

Frontpage 98

I cannot download all of my webpage to my new web page host. I am using
Frontpage 98. My computer is using XP. In looking through the the existing
questions, it looks like I should upgrade to Frontpage 2002. Would this be
the best solution?. And if so, were would be the best place to purchase 2002
since it is no longer available from Microsoft.

You might try FP2003 (rather than FP2002)......or Expression Web (which is
the latest product).

FP 98 I don't think works too well with XP because it requires the Personal
Web Server (which XP isnt too happy with).

As frequently suggested on this group Ebay might be one place to obtain a
copy of FP2002 or 2003.

I might be wrong about this but I believe FP98 requires the PWS to run - and
not sure that XP Home can run the PWS.

No, home can't run the PWS. Neither can pro, which uses the IIS 5.1 web
server.

You will need to upgrade to a minimum of FP2000, as current versions of the FP extensions no longer
support the FP98 client application.
