install DBI

Hi,
trying to install DBI for use with mysql I can't seem to be able to manage.

- ppm tells me everything is OK
- cpan tells me it can't write makefile

when I run my script, it tells me that it

"Can't locate DBI.pm in @INC"

This is on Mac OS 10.4.

Any ideas?

Recent versions of Activestate Perl come with DBI already installed (I
believe that ppm uses it). Which version of Activstate Perl are you
using?

Could be an old version and DBI isn't installed, a new version
installation that is broken, something wrong with your code, something
else. Its hard to say without more info. =

Thanks, Brian,

apologies for replying to you directly, I somehow imagined the mailing list=
had posted it on your behalf. You can tell I am new around here.

It turned out it was an INC problem. I had three installations of Perl on t=
he machine, the one that comes with mac os, activePerl 5.8 and ActivePerl 5=
..10.

The first line of my script called /usr/bin/perl which must be the one that=
comes with Mac OS.

Once I had figured out what perl to use it worked.

Thanks for your help. I should have been able to figure that one out by mys=
elf.
