question about bugzilla perl ppm pacage update

am 02.07.2008 16:30:18 von loody

Dear all:
I follow http://www.bugzilla.org/docs/win32install.html to update my bugzilla.
But I found the GUI ppm has replace the dos command.
My question is:

How could the same command, rep add Bugzilla
http://landfill.bugzilla.org/ppm, work under PPM GUI?

Btw, suppose my friend has already install the perl packages I needed,
can I directly copy it to my computer?
if it can be, how to do that?
The os of my and my friend is XP.

Sincerely yours,
cckuo

The command line still works; however, there is no longer an interactive shell.

ppm help repo

The GUI version works as well...albeit a lot slower:
Edit->Preferences->Repositories->Add

There still is a shell, it is just called `ppm-shell` because `ppm`
without arguments invokes the GUI.

If the ppm archive is as out of date as the instructions seem to be, it
is quite possible that the modules that live there are not binary
compatible with the latest Activestate Perl (5.10).

If you want the ppm console shell back there is a program called 'ppm-
shell' you can use. All it actually does is prepend "ppm " to each
command you give it.
