Probably best to ask on a slackware mailing list=20
(http://www.slackware.com/lists/). They'd have the best suggestions on=20
how to do this.

MySQL is the configured database in the Slackware package tree. You=20
can't install them if you want to use Postgres. On every version of=20
Slackware I have installed, I have ignored all three packages during the=20
install. Then I download the latest source kits for Apache, PHP, and=20
Postgres; unpack them in /usr/local/src, configure them the way I want=20
them and build from there. Yes, it's a major hassle, and it took me=20
dozens of iterations over several months to figure out all of the=20
inter-dependencies. But that's the only way I can get them installed=20
with my choice of options instead of suffering with someone else's.
