RAID5/6 Offload via IOATDMA

RAID5/6 Offload via IOATDMA

Hi. I'm trying to get additional information about this feature. I know that there were some patches added since 2.6.32 for more recent xeon processors. I'm having a hard time getting specifics on the hardware required around this.
Am I at the right list to inquire about this feature?

I think this is what you are looking for:
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/embedded/hwsw/hardware/xeon-c55 00-c3500-3420/overview

Thanks so much! So any motherboard with a 3420 chipset should have this technology or is it embedded in the processor?

You need the right processor. But of course the processor matches up with the appropriate chipset as well.
