DBD-mysql install problem

I'm trying to install DBD::mysql v. 2.1017 on OSX v. 10.1.5.

make ends with:

chmod 755 blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle
chmod: blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle: No such file or directory
make: *** [blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle] Error 1

I looked in that directory and sure enough it's not there :-)

Any idea why this file is not being created?

Have others successfully installed DBD::mysql on OSX?
