Mac OS X 10.3.2, PERL 5.8.1 and MySQL 4

Since upgrading from Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) to 10.3.2 (Panther) and
going from MySQL 3 to 4, I'm unable to get my PERL programs to access MySQL.
I seem to be having problems with the DBI and DBD packages. I've
tried several different
sites to get source and binary, and installed them, but still get the error:

Can't locate loadable object for module DBD::mysql in @INC

I do have the packages in the path in @INC, but still get this error.

Does anyone have OS X 10.3.2, MySQL 4 and PERL 5.8.1 working with DBI and DBD?
Where did you obtain your DBI/DBD? What are contents of the installed folders?

I've posted this on an Apple forum and have seen at least 2 others
with this same
problem.
