errno 13
am 10.04.2004 19:43:35 von Jan EdenHi,
I finally managed to install DBD::mysql on Mac OS X (10.3). But on the way,=
I experienced a strange error:
After starting the mysqld process (safe_mysqld --user=3Dmysql &), I tried t=
o create a sample database (as SQL-user "root"), but I got error 13.
So I changed the permissions on the /usr/local/mysql/data directory to allo=
w group writing, and everything worked fine from there on.
I guess the reason is that the mysqld process was not initiated by the syst=
em user "mysql", but by me (user "jan"), so it did not have writing privile=
ges to the data dir.
Am I right? Since this question is a little off-topic, I would be happy to =
receive a simple "yes" instead of some flaming.
Thanks,
Jan
